Important Stuff

Tomorrow, there will be an Easter Mass in the gym at 1:30.  We also visited the book fair today.  Students will be bringing home a wish list of books they would like to get.  On May 6, our class will be purchasing books in the Learning Commons. Our mealworms continue to grow and it is important to bring in some fresh fruit each day.  They only need a small amount so they can share with their human!  Take a look at this short video on the lifecycle of a mealworm:

More Earth Day Pledges and Newest Members of Our Class

We have just begun our new science unit inquiry about "Growth and Changes in Animals" Students got to choose a mealworm to place in the habitat they had created with a glass jar and oatmeal.  On the first day, we cut up some apple to place in the jar for the mealworm to get some water.  We also did some experiments to see what would happen if we a) blew gently on the mealworm b) tapped gently beside the mealworm and c) placed a drop of water on the mealworm.  Here are some pictures of our new class members! Each day, fresh fruit should be added to the jar and the old fruit placed in the compost bin.
Spot the mealworm?
